On november 4, 1921, Hoard Carter made the greatest discovery of his life time. For the past few years, he had worked with Lord Carnarvon, a wealthy English aristocrat. The two were fascinated by Egyptology and were determined to find the tomb of King Tut. In 1914, Carnarvon received permission to dig at KV62, the area they believed Tut was buried. Upon being assigned the job, Carter began the digging near King Ramesses VI's tomb and was told to remove some ancient worker's hut. On november 4, 1922, while digging beneath them huts, a step was found. At the end of the stare case was a still sealed door with the markings of King Tutankhamun. After clearing all the stairs, Carter re-hid them until the arrival of Lord Carnarvon. On november 22, 1922, the two ventured into the depths of the tomb and what they found amazed them.
