Contents of the Tomb
The Contents of the tomb were found in four separate rooms. The antechamber, the annex, the burial chamber, and the treasury. Howard Carter took the time to meticulously remove and record each and every artifact. This could have been done very quickly, but Carter wanted to preserve the rich history buried in the tomb. Instead, it took nearly a decade to completely empty all the contents.Together, over three thousand five hundred artifacts were excavated. These objects included tables, jars, pottery, and of course, the King himself. KV62 was in such good condition, Carter even found bouquets of flowers which disintegrated in his hands. the tomb however, was believed to be robbed only of jewelry shortly after the burial. With the exception of the jewelry, the tomb was completely intact. A full tomb had never been found before and it gave great insight into the complicated rituals of the ancient Egyptians.
